After 832 days in foster care, 3-year-old Michael Brown was finally adopted by his third foster family.

Tara Montgomery and her two daughters began fostering Michael in February of 2015, when he was just 18 months old. Though not initially considering adoption, when the original plan for Michael to be reunited with his biological mother fell through and her rights were severed, Montgomery's plans changed.

“As a single parent, I was not looking to adopt, just to help kids during transition,” Montgomery told The Huffington Post. “But that changed with Michael. It felt like he was a part of our family right from the start.”

On Dec. 20, Michael was permanently adopted. One of his new adoptive sisters, Dezhianna Brown, shared a picture of Michael at the courthouse on Twitter, and it quickly went viral.

“He wakes in the morning and says, ‘Mom, I so happy,’” Montgomery told The Huffington Post.

The unbelievable cuteness of Michael's photo struck a chord with thousands of Twitter users, who understandably could notkeep it together.

“If this can inspire just one person to make a difference in the life of a child, we are happy," Montgomery said.

What? We're not crying, you're crying. (We're all crying.)
