【felim lucah】Presentation by Makeup Master for Japanese Dance
Nihon Buyo Kai of California has invited an internationally renowned Japanese classical dance (Nihon buyo) makeup master, Kanda Mitsunaga, to present a demonstration to the public and a hands-on workshop for Japanese classical on Sunday, June 22, from 1 p.m. at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, 100 N. Hill St. in Pasadena.
Part 1 will include a lecture and demonstration by Mitsunaga of okesho makeup application for both female and male buyo roles. Presented in Japanese with live English translation, the demonstration will be followed by a brief question-and-answer period.
Part 2 is a hands-on workshop. Participation is limited to practitioners of Nihon buyo who are familiar with the fundamentals of okesho application and possess their own makeup kits. In the spirit of public education and cultural exchange, Part 2 will be open to university-level performing arts educators.
