SAN DIEGO — Buddhist Temple of San Diego, 2929 Market St. in San Diego, will hold its Obon Festival on Saturday, Aug. 3. The schedule is as follows:
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Hatsubon lantern-making
2 p.m.: Obon service combined with Hatsubon service
4:30 p.m.: Gates open for sales at food booths, Obon Again shop
5:15 p.m.: Okinawan shamisen
5:45 p.m.: BTSD Taiko with Shokenji Taiko
6:15 p.m.: Dancers assemble
6:30 p.m.: Bon Odori starts
7:20 p.m.: Intermission with BTSD Taiko, Naruwan Taiko, San Diego Taiko and Shokenji Taiko
7:45 p.m.: Dancing resumes
8:30 p.m.: End of dancing, followed by Jr. YBA opportunity drawing
