Model Dani Mathers prompted a police investigation when she body shamed a nude woman at the gym on ?? ??? ??Snapchat. Now, she continues to face backlash from the internet, including from army veteran Christine Blackmon.

Blackmon, who runs a personal Facebook page called Delicate Flower, posted a nude photo of her own on Sunday, which was originally taken playfully by her husband. In the caption, she explained why she's proud of the photo — and why she'll never be ashamed of her body.

"Here's the deal — you may have been a Playboy model but not all of us work out to be 'hot'," she wrote. "Some of us work out simply to honor the bodies we were given."

And her message is striking a chord. Blackmon told Mashable she's received dozens of moving responses since the photo went up. In particular, she said, she remembers a post from a woman who finally felt confident enough to take a photo with her child.

In the end, Blackmon said, she just wants everyone to live their lives. "It's okay. Life is short. You're going to be insecure," she said.

"Sure, there are haters out there," she added, "but you can't live your life worried about the what ifs."
