GARDENA — Steve Nagano will speak and video sex arielshow his short film “Six Weddings and a Dress” on Sunday, March 29, at 2 p.m. at Merit Park Recreation Hall, 58 Merit Park Drive, Gardena.

The program is sponsored by the Greater L.A. Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League.

“Six Weddings and a Dress” is an eight-minute documentary that tells the story of Chiyomi Ogawa’s wedding dress, which was worn by six women incarcerated at Manzanar. The women, upon their release, relocated to Pasadena to marry and bring up their families.

Nagano will also talk about his life as a filmmaker. A longtime member of Nikkei for Civil Rights & Redress (NCRR), he has worked on two California Civil Liberties Public Education Program (CCLPEP) grants, the narrative film “Stand Up for Justice: The Ralph Lazo Story” and the Stand Up for Justice curriculum project. He also worked on the federally funded Speak Out for Justice project, which preserved and indexed the 157 testimonies of the 1981 Los Angeles hearings of the Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC) in 13 DVDs.

He has recently completed two short films, “More Than 1,000 Words,”a profile of long-time Rafu Shimpophotographer Mario Reyes, and “Speaking Out,” presenting personal testimonies before the CWRIC.
