Madame Hanayagi Rokumine, shown at the 2007 Nisei Week Grand Parade, will be honored on Sunday, June 9, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Tateuchi Democracy Forum in Little Tokyo, for her life-long dedication to the Japanese art of classical dance and for her contributions to the Nikkei community. The program is sponsored by the Nikkei Women’s Legacy Association and will feature dance and vocal performances, and a short film of Hanayagi Rokumine produced by Steve Nagano.
