【straight boy first gay sex videos】GLA JACL to Screen ‘Removed by Force’ at Faith UMC

TORRANCE — Greater Los Angeles JACL, with Faith United Methodist Church’s Social Action Committee, presents “Removed by Force: The Eviction of Hawaii’s Japanese Americans During World War II” on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. at Faith UMC, 2115 W. 182nd St., Torrance.

The documentary sheds light on the relatively unknown experiences of Americans of Japanese ancestry from 23 geographic areas in Hawaii who were evicted, but not interned, during the war.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with William Kaneko and Ryan Kawamoto, co-producers of the documentary. Kawamoto is also the director. Also on the panel will be Carole Hayashino, a primary figure in the film and producer of the documentaries “Voices Behind Barbed Wire” (2018) and “The Untold Story: Internment of Japanese Americans in Hawaii” (2012).

Immediately following the bombing of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, about 1,500 Americans of Japanese ancestry were evicted from their homes by the U.S. government throughout the Territory of Hawaii. They were not incarcerated or sent to detention facilities. Nearly 40 years later the Japanese American Citizens League helped them seek justice.

Free admission. Seating is limited. For more information, email [email protected].
