"The idea came about when the intro to NCISaccidentally landed on my TV," Highton told Mashable. "It looked a lot like stock footage so I wondered if I could recreate it. Then I saw someone mention the O.C. on Twitter and the two ideas meshed."

Highton's first attempt at a stock footage intro of The O.C., while undeniably brilliant, didn't quite take off on Twitter — but his second attempt most certainly has.

Glorious.

Highton explained that he found the footage he used for to recreate the Buffy the Vampire Slayerintro on a video stock site he has a subscription for, using search terms like "group walk forwards" and "blonde woman does flip." Highton shared the finished video on Tuesday evening, and it's since been retweeted over 1,200 times — including a share from the creator of Buffyhimself, Joss Whedon.

"It’s always nice when something does well," Highton said. "Especially when you’ve put the time in. It’s normally the stuff that takes two minutes that flies off the shelf and the stuff you give days to gets nothing. When Joss Whedon shares it though, you dial your inner teenage nerd and tell him everything turns out okay."

So will there be more stock footage creations to come?

"I feel like now I know it works I’ll make more," said Highton. "Adam Larter, another comedian, asked for Happy Daysand that has kind of rooted in my brain. Roll on the '50s greaser,' '50s leather jacket thumbs up' and 'Jukebox' searches."

We're looking forward to it already.
