Disney’s El Capitan Theatre, 6838 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, will screen Hayao Miyazaki’s “The Wind Rises” (Kaze Tachinu) from Feb. 21 to 27. Showtimes are as follows:

Friday, Feb. 21, to Sunday, Feb. 23, at 1, 4, 7 and 9:45 p.m.

Monday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m., 1, 4, 7 and 9:45 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 1, 4 and 7 p.m.

Japanese-language screenings with English subtitles on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m., Feb. 24 at 10 a.m., and Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. All other showtimes are for the English-dubbed version.

Artwork from Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli will be displayed at the theater.

Based on Miyazaki’s manga of the same name, “The Wind Rises” is a fictionalized biography of Jiro Horikoshi, who dreamed of flying and designing airplanes. Nearsighted from a young age and thus unable to become a pilot, he joins the aircraft division of a major Japanese engineering company in 1927. He lives through key historical events, including the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, the Great Depression, the tuberculosis epidemic, and Japan’s plunge into war.

The original voice cast includes Hideaki Anno as Horikoshi, Miori Takimoto as his love interest, Naoko, and Hidetoshi Nishijima as his friend and colleague Honjo. The English voice cast includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Horikoshi, Emily Blunt as Naoko and John Krasinski as Honjo.

An Academy Award, Golden Globe and Annie Award nominee, “The Wind Rises” is said to be Miyazaki’s final film as a director. His other films include “My Neighbor Totoro,” “Princess Mononoke,” “Spirited Away,” “Howl’s Moving Castle,” and “Ponyo.”
