PASADENA — Pasadena Buddhist Temple, 1993 Glen Ave. in Pasadena, will hold its 2024 Mini Obon on Saturday, July 20. The schedule is as follows:

4 p.m.: Parking lot will open. Handicapped and permit parking entrance on Glen Avenue. All other parking enter on Wyoming. If you park on the street, do not block the neighbors’ driveways.

Food and beverages will be sold on-site for attendees. On the menu: Chirashi, beef chow mein, Spam musubi, chili rice, corn on the cob, hot dogs, watermelon, cha shu bao. Cash and digital payment only. The Beer and Wine Garden will be open to those 21 and over.

The white elephant sale will offer great bargains.

5 p.m.: Magic show by professional magician Wayne Kawamoto inside the Hondo.

5:45 p.m.: Performance by L.A. Ichiza Taiko.

Incense offerings can be made inside the Hondo before dancing.

Nisei Week queen candidates will be introduced.

6:15 to 7:30 p.m.: Bon Odori will be held in the parking lot. Everyone is welcome to join in.
