As for why Lorde deleted the account, that's anyone's guess. Sure, it's understandable that a celebrity would want to evaluate onion rings undetected ... but then why follow the account yourself? Why let your makeup artist, assistant, and producer like the photos? Why leave that internet breadcrumb trail?

Perhaps, once the media request from Newshub arrived, Lorde realized that once people knew about @onionringsworldwide, the authenticity of her onion ring experience would fundamentally change—that the simple pleasure of eating good snacks wouldn't be quite so simple anymore.
